Dollar tracks Treasury yields lower as Fed stays on hold
  + stars: | 2023-11-02 | by ( ) www.cnbc.com   time to read: +3 min
The dollar fell broadly on Thursday, tracking a slide in U.S. Treasury yields as markets grew more convinced the Federal Reserve was done with its aggressive monetary policy tightening cycle after it left rates unchanged. However, Fed Chair Jerome Powell acknowledged that a recent market-driven rise in Treasury bond yields, home mortgage rates and other financing costs could have their own impact on the economy as long as they persist. The dollar edged broadly lower alongside U.S. Treasury yields which touched multi-week lows in early Asia trade. "This could take some time to develop and is one reason we are likely to see higher rates for longer." The move lower in the dollar brought some respite for the yen, though it remained on the weaker side of 150 per dollar.

In the second full day of rescue efforts, officials are removing the debris into smaller piles for the search. Slinker estimated that up to 50 rescue workers and 25 support personnel at a time were involved in the search.

CNN —Flexing different muscles, Marvel’s “Werewolf by Night” is a nifty Halloween-timed special designed as a black-and-white homage to the Universal monster movies of the 1930s and ’40s. A brisk 50-ish minutes, the program assumes a fair amount of comic-book knowledge and hits the ground running, with an assembly of monster hunters brought together to compete for the Bloodstone, a supernatural artifact. He’s pursuing a very different agenda – and thanks to Man-Thing, another Marvel character from the early 1970s, not the only monster unleashed. Seen in that light, in fact, “Werewolf by Night” could be the dawn of an intriguing new day. “Werewolf by Night” premieres October 7 on Disney+.
